  • WHIPPED COFFEE CREAMER (posted May 6, 2019)
  • Reddi-wip, a brand of Conagra Brands Inc., has moved into the coffee creamer category with the debut of its Barista line of cream-based products.
  • New Nitro Creamer and Sweet Foam are designed to give consumers a coffeehouse experience any time of day, without the coffee shop lines or price.
  • “Given the continued strength of coffee sales and the fact that many consumers already use our regular Reddi-wip in their coffee, we saw an exciting opportunity to bring a cream-based innovation to market that would better replicate popular coffee drinks and the coffeehouse experience but in the convenience of home or work,” says Ryan Clark, president of the refrigerated and frozen division at Conagra Brands.
    Reddi-wip Nitro Creamer can be used in place of a traditional coffee creamer. It delivers sweetness and cream and infuses coffee with a rich, velvety texture that takes coffee to a new level. The versatile creamer can be used in both cold and hot coffee beverages as well as non-coffee beverages like root beer or orange soda for a root beer float or orange dreamsicle-type experience.
  • Reddi-wip Sweet Foam can be used along with Nitro Creamer or other traditional coffee creamers. Sweet Foam adds a slightly sweet, finishing touch but the foam settles on top of the beverage as opposed to dispersing throughout like Nitro Creamer or other creamers. When used in conjunction with another creamer, Sweet Foam creates an even sweeter coffee experience, making it perfect for lattes, caramel macchiatos and more. 
  • The Reddi-wip Barista Series is dairy based.
  • The Nitro Creamer and Sweet Foam products have a distinctive taste that is different than regular Reddi-wip whipped topping but both deliver dairy sweetness and notes of vanilla. The instructions for use are also different than regular Reddi-wip products. To use, fill a mug or cup with coffee, saving some room for creamer or foam. Then 1) Shake can well, remove cap. 2) Turn can completely upside down and press nozzle sideways to add creamer or sweet foam. The Nitro Creamer will disperse throughout the beverage while Sweet Foam will settle on the top. 3) Rinse nozzle thoroughly with warm water and return to refrigerator.
  • Nitro Creamer and Sweet Foam are gluten-free, contain real sugar and no artificial sweeteners, flavors or preservatives.
  • Both varieties are made with only six ingredients.
  • The Nitro Creamer contains 40 calories per serving while Sweet Foam contains 45 calories per serving.

  • NEW DAIRY DESSERT CANNOLI CONCEPT (posted April 23, 2019)
  • Golden Cannoli Shells Company grows its ready-to-serve cannoli line with a single-serve Grab & Go Cup and a Small Chip and Dip Platter.
  • These new dessert concepts are filled with bite-size cannoli chips and sweetened ricotta cannoli dip, which is simply made with vinegar-set whole milk ricotta cheese, cane sugar and natural vanilla flavor.
  • The chips are triangles cut from real cannoli dough that are fried golden brown and dusted with powdered sugar.
  • Both containers are resealable and can be stored frozen, which is how they are shipped.
  • The platter contains 16 ounces of cannoli chips and 10 ounces of cannoli cream.

  • FLAVORED AEROSOL WHIPPED CREAM (posted April 2, 2019)
  • Gay Lea introduces new limited-edition flavored whipped cream, the first flavored dairy whipped cream for the company, joining regular and light as well as a dairy-free coconut variety.
  • Just in time for when consumers crave the tastes of warmer weather campfires comes Gay Lea Toasted Marshmallow Whipped Cream.
  • This limited-edition product is rolling out into refrigerated dairy departments throughout Canada and will only be available until the first autumn leaf falls.
  • Toasted Marshmallow Whipped Cream is perfect for summertime entertaining on hot and iced drinks, desserts, unique cocktails, waffles or simply as is, by the spoonful.
  • With cream as the first ingredient, a four-tablespoon serving contains 40 calories and 3 grams of fat.

  • PREMIUM LAYERED DAIRY DESSERTS (posted January 8, 2019)
  • The Cheesecake Factory at Home introduces restaurant-inspired refrigerated parfaits.
  • Sold in packs of two 5.5-ounce clear cups, the dairy desserts come in four varieties.
  • They are:
  • Cake Batter Strawberry Royale is creamy cake batter-flavored pudding over a sweet strawberry puree.
  • Chocolate Black-Out is rich Belgian chocolate pudding over dark chocolate fudge sauce.
  • Salted Caramel Delight is creamy salted caramel pudding over rich caramel sauce.
  • Vanilla Fudge Duet is creamy vanilla bean pudding over dark chocolate fudge sauce.
  • Made with whole milk and cream, one serving contains 250 to 290 calories, 12 to 13 grams of fat, 30 to 39 grams of sugar and 3 to 5 grams of protein.

  • ADULT-CENTRIC, DAIRY-BASED POUCH SNACKS (posted November 13, 2018)
  • SmashPack updates formulations and redesigns packages of its Protein Pudding and Protein Smoothie.
  • First launched in 2015, the original SmashPack was an all-natural, high-protein and real fruit nutritional snack that came in spouted squeeze packs. Each shelf-stable pouch was packed with 14 grams of high-quality whey protein, one serving of real fruit, 5 grams of healthy fats and only 180 calories.
  • “The idea was driven by my family’s medical history. Knowing the kind of medical problems that they had later in life due to poor nutrition and exercise I knew that I had to break the cycle for my son and my family,” says Rob Simpson, who co-founded SmashPack with his wife Kari.
  • Since the launch, the couple listened and responded to its core customers with product updates. In April 2018, the company rolled out SmashPack high-protein pudding pouches. Each pouch contains 15 grams of grass-fed dairy protein and only 4 grams of inherent sugar.
  • The company is now rolling out a reformulated original product line with medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oils, which are trending as one of the hottest health and wellness ingredients for 2019. The rest of the nutritional profile remains the same.
  • MCT oils are healthy fats recognized as optimum fuel sources for both brain and body, and, when part of a high-protein and very-low-sugar product, appeal to the growing number of consumers following a ketogenic diet.
  • “One of the benefits we’ve consistently heard from our customers about our Protein Smoothies is how easy our products are on the stomach and people use them not just because of the high protein and the healthy fat to keep them fuller longer but also due to the fact that the fruit provides them a natural source of energy,” says Kari. “We heard them and wanted to take it one step further by switching out the healthy fat for MCT oil, as well as making the product thinner like a smoothie, so it was easier to enjoy quickly.”

  • Raymundo’s introduces Pudding Toppers.
  • These refrigerated puddings feature a dome top that contains flavorful and crunchy mix-ins.
  • Hand-crafted in small batches, Pudding Toppers come in five varieties. They are: Dark Chocolate Pudding with Churro Crumbles, Flan with Salted Caramel Crumbles, Key Lime Pie Pudding with White Chocolate and Pie Crumbles, Rice Pudding with Granola, and Vanilla Pudding with Chocolate Brownies.

  • HIGH-PROTEIN INDULGENT SNACK (posted July 9, 2018)
  • Powerful, a four-year-old brand credited with launching the brogurt category (manly yogurt), introduces Powerful Bites.
  • This refrigerated multi-serving, grab-and-go snack is a new spin on nutritious, satiating whey protein.
  • Each 5.3-ounce container provides a total of 30 grams of protein, with each container being about six servings (five bites per serving).
  • One serving contains 120 to 125 calories, 10 grams of fat, 5 grams of protein and 2 to 3 grams of sugar, with no added sugars. The latter is made possible through the use of erythritol and stevia.
  • Varieties are Blueberry Pie, Double Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chocolate.
  • The base for this refrigerated snack is a proprietary combination of peanut butter, whey protein isolate, coconut oil, palm oil and other natural ingredients, all recognized as being powerful sources of energy.

  • GUILT-FREE PUDDING POUCHES (posted March 21, 2018)
  • Smashpack introduces grass-fed protein pudding. The perishable 4.3-ounce pouches come in Chocolate and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors and contains 130 calories and 4 grams and 4.5 grams of fat, respectively.
  • They are made with a grass-fed BST-free protein blend of calcium caseinate, whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate, allowing for each pouch to provide 15 grams of protein.
  • The pudding is sweetened with organic coconut sugar and monk fruit juice concentrate. This provides a pudding with 4 grams of sugar per pouch, 3 grams of which are added sugars.
