  • Prairie Farms introduces Milk Snack Bars
  • The new refrigerated snack is a two-layer whole milk crème-filled chocolate cake bar dipped in chocolate.
  • When compared to conventional shelf-stable chocolate snack cakes, Prairie Farms Milk Snack Chocolate Cake Bars have a short, simple ingredient list and do not contain artificial colors or preservatives.
  • They are available as a single-bar and in four-count boxes.

  • Lactinov of France debuts Milk Kiss dairy snack pouches.
  • The shelf-stable 80-gram pouch snack comes in four flavors. They are: Peach, Raspberry, Strawberry and Vanilla.
  • Sold in boxes of four, the recloseable pouches are small enough to slip into pockets and to be easily held by littles hands.
  • The dairy snack is made with yogurt, milk and fruit and is specially heat processed and packaged for an 11-month ambient shelflife.

  • From Germany, Farmers Land Food introduces frozen fruit, yogurt and cereal bowls.
  • These 9.9-ounce bowls can be defrosted in the microwave or defrosted at room temperature.
  • There are three varieties.
  • Natural Bowl is low-fat yogurt pellets, crunchy muesli and nuts, and a fruit blend of chunks of mango, raspberries and blueberries.
  • Greek Bowl is whole milk Greek yogurt pellets, crunchy high-fiber muesli, and a fruit blend of red grapes with chunks of apple and peach.
  • Acai Bowl contains no dairy. It is frozen pellets made of banana puree, acai puree and rice milk, with crunchy high-fiber muesli and a fruit blend of blueberries with diced mango and strawberries.

  • SENSIBLE DAIRY INDULGENCE (posted September 28, 2017)
  • Emmi introduces Ooola Secrets to the Swiss market.
  • The new range of mousse desserts is in response to a trend for sensible indulgence and time-saving convenience products.
  • Ooola Secrets comes in two flavors: Chocolate and Raspberry Mouse with Chocolate Chips and Chocolate Mousse Trio with Caramel.
  • The desserts come in 60-grams clear plastic containers in packs of three.
  • A single-serving cup contains about 85 calories, 3 grams of fat, 6 grams of sugar and 2.7 grams of protein.
  • The company said in a statement: “Ooola Secrets [is] a product range that stands out from the competition in a number of ways. The main difference is the 60 gram portion size. With less than 90 calories, the desserts are perfectly in line with the general trend for a healthier, more balanced diet. For many consumers, this lifestyle still has room for a degree of sensible indulgence, whether in the form of snacks or as a dessert. As is customary for Emmi, quality and pleasure were the focus when developing the new dessert range.   • Dolce USA debuts Sweetaly refrigerated dessert line.

  • The 200-gram cups come in Apple and Classic varieties.
  • The porridge is made with semi-skimmed Swiss milk and oats.
  • Apple is 13% oats, 8% apple and 5% sugar, with a container providing 218 calories, 5 grams of fat and 8 grams of protein.
  • Classic is 15% oats and 5% sugar, with a container providing 230 calories, 5 grams of fat and 9 grams of protein.

  • Petit Pot introduces Pot de Crème (French for delicious pudding) and Riz Au Lait (French for delicious rice pudding).

  • Kraft Heinz rolls out Philadelphia Cheesecake Cups.
  • These new refrigerated snacks come in two packs of 3.25-ounce clear-plastic single-serve cups.
  • A serving contains 170 to 220 calories, 10 to 12 grams of fat, 14 to 22 grams of sugar and 2 to 3 grams of protein, depending on variety.
  • The snacks come in Cherry, Milk Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Strawberry varieties.
  • Packages tout the fact that the snacks do not contain artificial flavors or dyes.
  • Cheesecake filling is the first ingredient, with cream cheese the first component of the filling.

  • SHELF-STABLE, CLEAN-LABEL MILK-BASED PUDDINGS (posted February 9, 2017)
  • ConAgra Foods introduces Snack Pack Naturals.
  • Packages of the gluten-free, kosher shelf-stable puddings state that they contain nothing artificial and that they are made with real milk.
  • The puddings come in Chocolate, Vanilla and Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl varieties.
  • They are made with either real cocoa or real vanilla.
  • Sold in packs of six 3.75-ounce plastic cups, each cup contains 130 calories, 2 grams of protein, and depending on variety, 2.5 to 3.5 grams of fat and 17 to 18 grams of sugar.

  • Impressively, this very colorful dessert contains no synthetic colors.
  • The dessert also does not contain artificial flavors or high fructose corn syrup.
  • The 21.2-ounce dessert contains eight servings, with each serving providing 210 calories, 9 grams of fat and 2 grams of protein.

  • France’s Mamie Nova, long known for its premium refrigerated dairy desserts, used Anuga to roll out a new line called Coeur de Mousse.
  • The three variants are Caramel Beurre Sale (salted butter caramel), Chocolat Intense and Vanilla Caramel Au Lait.
  • The indulgent desserts are sold in two packs of 77-gram single-serve cups.

  • LACTOSE-FREE DAIRY DESSERTS (posted October 19, 2015)
  • Omira Milch continues to grow its Minus L lactose-free dairy products line with puddings and ice cream.
  • Minus L is the EU’s leader in lactose-free dairy products, offering everything from fluid milk to fermented products. Now there’s dairy desserts.
  • Milchreis (rice pudding) comes in Cinnamon and Classic varieties.
  • There’s also traditional pudding in the same flavors.
  • Earlier this year, the company introduced a line of lactose-free ice creams. There are three 500-milliliter containers of Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla ice creams.

  • REFRIGERATED SINGLE-SERVE DAIRY PUDDINGS SPORT HERSHEY’S BRAND (posted September 8, 2015)
  • Back in 1989, with help from co-packers, Hershey’s entered the refrigerated pudding category, giving Kraft’s Jell-O brand some competition. Over the years, the product has varied in flavors and forms, including cups and tubes, and eventually exited the marketplace.
  • Just in time for back to school, Kraft Heinz and Hershey’s are now a team. They are reintroducing Americans to a new premium Hershey’s refrigerated pudding line.
  • These layered single-serve dairy desserts are sold in packs of four, with each container delivering 110 to 140 calories, 2 to 3.5 grams of fat and 2 to 3 grams of protein, depending on variety.
  • The three varieties are: Chocolate, Chocolate Covered Strawberry and S’mores.
  • Chocolate is also sold in a 16-pack family-size box.
  • The new puddings are likely part of a relationship that surfaced this summer when Hershey’s, Kraft Heinz and Mondelez International put their competitive hats on the hook in order to develop a joint-marketing campaign to generate a bigger sales bang from the s’mores season.

  • Nestlé’s Rolo candy is transformed into a layered dairy dessert.
  • Swiss-based Nestle has offered Rolo Dairy Dessert in the U.K. and Australia, as well as select Asian and South American countries for some time, but it is new to countries such as The Netherlands and Germany.  
  • Designed to mimic the popular caramel-filled chocolate candy, this product is described as a chocolate dairy dessert on a layer of caramel-flavored sauce.
  • It comes in 70-gram single-serve containers, in packs of either two or four.
  • The product is about 42% whole milk and 12% milk chocolate, plus other ingredients. The recipe varies slightly by country, in order to meet local regulations and ingredient availability and preferences.
