  • These new refrigerated snacks come in two packs of 3.25-ounce clear-plastic single-serve cups.
  • A serving contains 170 to 220 calories, 10 to 12 grams of fat, 14 to 22 grams of sugar and 2 to 3 grams of protein, depending on variety.
  • The snacks come in Cherry, Milk Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Strawberry varieties.
  • Packages tout the fact that the snacks do not contain artificial flavors or dyes.
  • Cheesecake filling is the first ingredient, with cream cheese the first component of the filling.

  • ConAgra Foods introduces Snack Pack Naturals.
  • Packages of the gluten-free, kosher shelf-stable puddings state that they contain nothing artificial and that they are made with real milk.
  • The puddings come in Chocolate, Vanilla and Chocolate & Vanilla Swirl varieties.
  • They are made with either real cocoa or real vanilla.

  • Impressively, this very colorful dessert contains no synthetic colors.

  • LACTOSE-FREE DAIRY DESSERTS (posted October 19, 2015)
  • Omira Milch continues to grow its Minus L lactose-free dairy products line with puddings and ice cream.
  • Minus L is the EU’s leader in lactose-free dairy products, offering everything from fluid milk to fermented products. Now there’s dairy desserts.
  • Milchreis (rice pudding) comes in Cinnamon and Classic varieties.

  • Back in 1989, with help from co-packers, Hershey’s entered the refrigerated pudding category, giving Kraft’s Jell-O brand some competition. Over the years, the product has varied in flavors and forms, including cups and tubes, and eventually exited the marketplace.
  • Just in time for back to school, Kraft Heinz and Hershey’s are now a team. They are reintroducing Americans to a new premium Hershey’s refrigerated pudding line.
  • These layered single-serve dairy desserts are sold in packs of four, with each container delivering 110 to 140 calories, 2 to 3.5 grams of fat and 2 to 3 grams of protein, depending on variety.
  • The three varieties are: Chocolate, Chocolate Covered Strawberry and S’mores.

  • Looka Patisserie is the retail division of San Francisco-based French Patisserie and now offers gourmet packaged dairy desserts.
  • Based on 20 years of knowledge of the dessert category, the retail products are made in the same fashion as its foodservice line using only the highest quality ingredients, according to the company.
  • The individual cup design offers a point of differentiation that is conveyed through the upscale graphics on the package that holds four cups, each a different flavor.

  • The innovative mini pots are unique to the ambient desserts category.

  • Sold under its popular Slimmer’s Choice brand, this low-fat pourable custard is vanilla flavored.
  • To keep calories and added sugars low, the custard is sweetened with sucralose.
  • Each 125-milliliter serving contains 67 calories (282 kilojoules), 1.8 grams of fat, 4.2 grams of protein and 6.5 grams of sugar.

  • GREEK YOGURT GETS LAYERED WITH INDULGENCE (posted September 29, 2014)
  • The Dannon Company shows consumers that Greek yogurt can be an indulgent dairy snack.
  • Oikos Chocolate On Top and Oikos Caramel On Top are a new format of the popular high-protein yogurt.
  • Each 5.3-ounce cup is Greek yogurt topped with a dollop of smooth creamy chocolate or caramel.
  • The chocolate varieties are Raspberry Truffle and Chocolate-Covered Strawberry.
  • The caramel varieties are Bananas Foster and Caramel Macchiato.

  • FROM CANDY AISLE TO DAIRY CASE: ROLO EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION
  • Nestlé’s Rolo candy is transformed into a layered dairy dessert.
  • Swiss-based Nestle has offered Rolo Dairy Dessert in the U.K. and Australia, as well as select Asian and South American countries for some time, but it is new to countries such as The Netherlands and Germany.  
  • Designed to mimic the popular caramel-filled chocolate candy, this product is described as a chocolate dairy dessert on a layer of caramel-flavored sauce.
  • It comes in 70-gram single-serve containers, in packs of either two or four.
  • The product is about 42% whole milk and 12% milk chocolate, plus other ingredients. The recipe varies slightly by country, in order to meet local regulations and ingredient availability and preferences.
  • The Dutch version contains 175 calories, 8.6 grams of fat and 2.3 grams of protein per 70-gram container.

  • GREEK-STYLE DAIRY DESSERTS MADE WITH LIQUEUR (posted September 10, 2014)
  • German retailer Lidl introduces private-label line of chilled desserts.
  • New Eridanous Greek-style Desserts start with a base of cream and yogurt, followed by a layer of fruit and liqueur (2%).
  • There are three varieties: Dates and Orange Liqueur, Fig and Orange Liqueur, and Strawberries and Orange Liqueur.
  • The single-serve chilled desserts come in 135-gram clear plastic containers.

  • Stonyfield debuted Petite Crème at the Summer Fancy Food Show.
  • The organic yogurt leader has ditched the typical farm motifs and bright colors on its packages and instead is using a sleek, sophisticated black design on the cups of new Petite Crème.
  • Formulated with the taste and nutritional preferences of today’s Greek yogurt consumer in mind, Petite Crème is a thick, yet silky low-fat, high-protein fresh cheese.

  • It aims to give customers an easy and even more appealing way to control the amount of salt, sugar and fats they eat, without compromising on flavor.
  • The new range offers two options to suit customers’ needs:
  • Healthy Living – Big on Taste, Lower in Calories – for those looking to lose weight. All products contain at least 30% fewer calories than the comparison product.
